“Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.”
Proverbs 3:3-4 (NKJV)
With hearts full of anticipation, the people of Hope Mission Centre gathered at The Tops Conference Centre on the evening of December 2, ready to receive the favour of God at HMC Camp 2016.
Over three powerful sessions delivered by Pastor Aileen and Pastor David, we learned about what favour truly looks like – being accepted and positioned in the place of God’s grace. From the example of Ruth, we learned about the necessity of obedience before we can receive God’s refuge and favour. And finally, we were challenged to be people after God’s own heart, to seek ways to serve Him, to favour God as He favours us.
Each one of us received a word from God to meditate on, and in our teams we had opportunities to discuss the ways we could apply the Word in our lives. On the final evening of camp, actors and accents were brought out as every team showcased the lessons we had learned at the ever-entertaining Theatre.
As a body of Christ we grew closer, sharing testimonies, dorms, and even balloons during competitive rounds of games. To our joy, six people were baptised at this year’s camp, including our brothers and sisters from Singapore and China.
God was – and still is – moving powerfully in the lives of every person who sought Him at this camp. Testimonies about God’s favour had poured in as the time for camp approached, and we know they will only increase as we continue to walk with Him.
